Jurors are being much more forthcoming about their feelings about Trump today. The potential juror who doesn't like his "persona" says:
"He's very selfish and self-serving, and I don't really appreciate that in a public servant."

Will that potential juror get sticken? Almost certainly.
Would it be worth it? You better believe it.

But they stayed to tell off Trump?

(25,575 posts)I have some very strong opinions, but my problem was that I stopped up to see his wife but I was half a buck short and he wouldnt extend me any credit. The Tiffany guy got credit.

(32,727 posts)I'm not a white man. I'm from the demographic that trump hates the most. And the feeling is mutual, btw.
I would mention his criminal negligence that caused over a million deaths during covid and his illegal attempts to toss black votes in 2020. And of course the insurrection.
But I would insist that I could be fair. lol.

(9,535 posts)I would have said,as a news reporter, I understand how to be impartial. Even if I don't like someone, or didn't vote for them, I still have to be objective in reporting. I've exposed scandals about people I voted for and published evidence exonerating people I didn't vote for, at times in my career. Journalists rely on facts, and that's what would guide me as a juror, regardless of whether I like or dislike a defendant personally.

(6,905 posts)I always have had opinions on one thing or another. I have also beenknown to recise my opinions when presented with hard evidence.
(I'll venture a guess that a larger percentage of DUers could honestly say the same, than the percentage would be of a similarly sized group of Republicans.)

(5,420 posts)I'd put my personal feelings towards Trump on hold just to learn the details of his financial shenanigans.
After the show is over and he gets financially decimated further and locked up, I would be available for press interviews.
Then would be the time to expose my utter disgust for the guy, his enablers and those who voted for him.

(16,786 posts)When asked if I had an opinion on the man....
"While I find Mr. Trump amoral and immoral, lacking in empathy and compassion with no sense of right or wrong, I also believe that every American under indictment for crimes is guaranteed a trial by a jury of one's peers. The 6th Amendment to the US Constitution explains that the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by said jury based on the facts and evidence presented, shall not be infringed. I believe in the Rule of Law."
Perhaps my response would not qualify me to be on this jury, but at least TSF would know how I felt and that the Rule of Law is still what keeps this country from falling apart. His defense lawyers do not want "smart jurors".
