Such a beautiful island. Of course the main reason is that you live there and I would hate for you to have to go through that.

The sportscaster just went on reading the sports news. Just said that he felt it but continued reading.

and it was in SF, CA in 1990. Only 4.5 and I heard the lyrics to Carole King singing "I feel the earth move under my feet..." Seriously. It was one of those moments when you have clear realization about the lyrics of a song.

Hope there wasn't too much damage from this quake, malaise. May you and your family be unscathed.

you are okay malaise, that's one of my favorite islands. Unsettling feeling earthquakes. I can handle hurricanes; you can be prepared for them. Stay safe

Jamaica was an awesome place to visit back in 1995. The Cave, Red Stripe, and the Montego Bay beach and market were fun, but the people are amazing.

"The 1692 Jamaica earthquake struck Port Royal, Jamaica, on 7 June. A stopped pocket watch found in the harbor during a 1959 excavation[2][3][4] indicated that it occurred around 11:43 AM local time.[5]

Known as the "storehouse and treasury of the West Indies"[citation needed] and as "one of the wickedest places on Earth,"[citation needed] Port Royal was, at the time, a key city in colonial Jamaica and one of the busiest and wealthiest ports in the Americas, as well as a common home port for many of the privateers and pirates operating on the Caribbean Sea.

The 1692 earthquake caused most of the city to sink below sea level. About 2,000 people died as a result of the earthquake and the following tsunami, and another 3,000 people died in the following days due to injuries and disease."
