'I hate that': Trump veers off into rant about being called 'unpopular'

Former President Donald Trump went on a rant Wednesday after saying he had been called "unpopular" in media reports. During a rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Trump's reaction to his 'unpopular' portrayal in media reports was palpable. "You know what bugs me?" the former president asked. "When they say, we have two very unpopular candidates, Joe Biden and Donald Trump. They're very unpopular. He's unpopular."

"I'm not unpopular," he insisted. "I'm like at 94% approval in the Republican Party. I'm not unpopular. They're fake news. I hate that. It's terrible."

The former president appeared at the Wisconsin rally amid an ongoing criminal court trial in New York City where he faces 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to an adult film star.

Experts say that trial raises multiple optics problems for the presumptive Republican nominee amid his 2024 presidential reelection campaign. "The optics of it aren't great," his former press secretary Sarah Matthews said Tuesday. "This was an [alleged] affair he had with a porn star shortly after his wife gave birth to their child."

Somebody is trying to reassure him that this is just another plot against him and he has “nothing to
worry about”. Eric and Don, jr?

5. Notice he measured his popularity specifically within the Republican party

He knows damn well the vast majority of Americans who aren't Republican loathe him. But that's unfair, we don't count, according to him. We're not the "real" Americans....

Of course, within the Democratic Party, Biden is certainly popular, but Donnie would never even pretend to be consistent....

Trump Has an Aide Who Follows Him Around With a Wireless Printer to Print Out "Good News From the Internet"

Story by Victor Tangermann • 2w

Extra! Extra!

This week, as the Stormy Daniels hush money trial kicked off, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman noted the presence of a figure in court whose job responsibility sounded like a joke, writing that her job was to carry around a "wireless printer" to provide the former president with an "ongoing stream of good news from the internet."

But it turns out that the aide is very real. Her name is Natalie Harp, a former One America News anchor who joined Trump's communications team in March 2022. According to reporting that year by the Washington Post, Harp would even accompany the former reality TV host on golf trips in a cart "equipped with a laptop and sometimes a printer to show him uplifting news articles, online posts, or other materials."

In Trump's chaotic inner circle, nothing is really surprising anymore — but an employee tasked with printing out good news for the tech-phobic former head of state might just take the cake for an unintentional character study.

I’m not guilty….you’re guilty.
I’m not…you are….that’s his entire shtick. With every accusation, it’s an admission.

8. He's maybe at 94% within the MAGA cult faction of the Republican party.

I doubt he's anywhere near that high party wide. It really doesn't matter though; he just pulls numbers, stats, and "facts" out of thin air anyway and expects the press and public will dutifully accept it all. He's beyond delusional.
