Mary Trump shared with her readers Tuesday night the disturbing origin of a pet name adult film star Stormy Daniels testified Tuesday she was given by former President Donald Trump after the pair had sex. It was really hard to get my shoes because my hands were shaking so hard, Daniels said on the witness stand in Manhattan criminal court.
He said: Oh, it was great. Lets get together again, honeybunch.' That specific word was especially jarring for psychologist Mary Trump, niece of the former president accused of falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
Trump denies the affair with Daniels and has pleaded not guilty to charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Hours after Daniels shared this detail of her alleged sexual encounter with the former president, Mary Trump responded in a lengthy issue of her Substack newsletter, "The Good In Us."

(2,028 posts)Rather than pimping the clickbait trash that is Raw Story?
It takes only one extra click to find the actual source, which will always be more credible, and often far more accurate, than using skeevy outside parties like Raw Story.
I don't know why you continue to ignore credible sources and rely on a source that is known to be unreliable, but it's getting to the point that one despairs that you'll ever learn why it matters to use good sources. Did you not take a uni level course in composition or research? Or if you attended, did you not pay attention in those classes? I've never know any of the good ones not to teach the importance of proper citations. Even mediocre professors teach how to separate credible sources from those that aren't. But maybe not all of them do as good of a job as my professors did.

(42,037 posts)As a former psychotherapist and analyst, it is beginning to bother me how much she tangles up the personal and diagnostic. Mind you, I agree with her hypothetically and I like her. But shes so emotionally involved that sometimes she gives me the professional eeps.

(1,187 posts)Mary provides proof go back up Stormy. Proving a fact if a case does not come off as emotional to me. In fact, when she Saud this, I wondered if the prosecution might bring Mary to the stand to enforce Story's testimony. Am I missing something about proving a fact if the case?

(91,405 posts)I have a strong feeling that trying to figure out her horrible extended family and get some emotional distance from them played a big part in her choice of academic studies and her choice of career. She wouldnt be the first to go that route.
I think the place that cracks apart is that she, even more than the rest of us, can never truly escape Uncle Donald.

(42,037 posts)There are reasons why we dont treat family members, or speak about them as if were their shrinks. Because were all tangled up with them and our feelings color it. Shes not pretending to be his therapist and I do think her message is valid. Its just deeply instilled to make me a bit nervous.
