(6,971 posts)it seems to me that's because animals are more helpless than people, even more so than children. They can't speak so they can't tell us what's tha matter. If abused, they can't hire a lowyer. If injured, they mostly can't just walk into a veterinary office (although i realize some have - but it's rare enough for the videos to grab attention.) Even sometimes wild animals are utterly dependent on the kindness of strangers to survive. I know that factor always pulls my heartstrings.

This was needed for me. Had to get on the floor with my girls and be thankful.
