Strawberry picking today

As I browsed through the rows of starwberry plants, choosing the ones I wanted, I realized that people are a lot like the berries. They are all getting ripe the longer they stay on the plant. Some are sweet, some are bitter, some are prime examples of good a strawberry and some are rotten.

Almost every encounter with Nature opens the door to musing, and who knows what insight we'll discover.

The mock orange and widow's wort in the yard used to bloom in June. The strawberry patches opened the beginning of May, adding at least 2 weeks to the the growing season.

I just had a dish of berries, thinking about what to do with the rest of them. You have a treat waiting for you!

I love Marietta tomatoes, but can't eat them like I used to. Miss toasted tomato sandwiches!
