I remember thinking at the time the first Cars album was released, what is this? It is not like the rock I know, Queen, Zeppelin, Neil Young, Yes, Rush... not really punk or pop either but you couldn't help but like it. Along with groups like the B-52s, The Talking Heads etc... it started the whole new wave rock scene. Pioneers!

Way back when, I would buy up any Cars bootlegs that I could find at the record store. Is it wrong for me to think that the weirder lyrics were written by Ric Ocasek? Those were always the lyrics I liked best.
