After months of speculation, months of questions, months of wondering about where one of the NBA's biggest stars is headed, Kevin Durant has made his decision.
He's headed to the Brooklyn Nets, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski has announced.
Durant is expected to officially announce his decision on Instagram at 6 p.m. Sunday night, the official start of NBA free agency.
If Durant does indeed announce he's signing with the Nets, it will mark one of the biggest days in their history.
Durant will likely miss all of next season recovering from a torn Achilles, but one of the best players in the game has his new home.
Barclays Center.
And he's expected to be joined by Kyrie Irving, according to the ESPN report.

(16,113 posts)He's not a leader, though, but with Durant, he won't be expected to be. Next year should be interesting for them with Durant missing much (if not all) of the year.

(183,374 posts)Yeah he's great on the floor but other than that he seems to be nothing but a headache

(16,113 posts)And the team is winning. In Cleveland he said he wanted to be the leader, in Boston he was the leader, did it poorly, and didnt seem to like it. Perhaps hes learned a lesson and will be better in Brooklyn. I thought he might have ended up with the Knicks, who I figured would go hard at him since he brings all sorts of disfunction with him (and the knicks seem to love that).

That there was a good chance KD would come to New York - BUT he would be playing his home games at the Barclay's Center
Methinks the whole problem with the Knicks boils down to one person: James Dolan
The only thing is: KD will not be available for at least 1 season, and there's no telling how at what level he can play. Right now, he's still damaged goods. Hope the Nets are at peace with that reality.

(54,223 posts)former self he'll still be able to shootmaybe not move as well. What the Nets have to get through is a year of Irving's huge ego and not that good leadership skills.
Didn't he say just this year that he's a basketball genius?
Even if you are, let others say stuff like that about you.
