The New York Times revealed that an upside-down American flag was flown outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito just days before President Biden's inauguration. The perversion of the American flag, normally a symbol of distress, was co-opted by the seditionists who stormed the Capitol. This corrupt and despicable act has no place in America and no place inside the Supreme Court.

on top of that, Supreme Sam’s plutocrat pals are forever gifting him all-expenses-paid luxury vacations. they’ll bundle him onto their private jets and zoom off to one exotic locale after another, where he’ll get to rub elbows and go fishing with the oligarchs whose cases are before him. all they ask in return is that he rule in their favor. so how does Fishin’ Trip Sammy show his appreciation for the country that bestowed all this upon him? by aligning himself with the fuckfaces who tried to overthrow our government on January 6th.

We've talked about "ballot curing" before on DU. Some county elections commissioners are allowing ballot curing, and it's mainly happening where the counties vote blue. In the rural counties that tend to vote red, there's no ballot curing and every flawed ballot goes into a holding file where it will probably never be opened and counted.
In blue counties such as Allegheny County for example, the Election Commissioner's office will receive a flawed ballot where either the signature or the hand-written date on the outer envelope is missing/incorrect. The Commissioner's office will contact the voter (by phone or mail) and notify the voter that they have "x" number of days to come down to the Elections office and "cure " the ballot. The voter can sign or date the envelope correctly, and it must be done by the day of the election. The cured ballot is added to the other ballots which will be counted on election day.
There's no fraud involved in this, and there's also no way to know whether the flawed ballots were cast for Democrats or Republicans. The outer envelope will not be opened or counted until after the curing takes place. The ACLU is perfectly correct in filing a lawsuit against Butler County, and any Pennsylvania county where ballot curing is not being done.

Along with that lawsuit, the organization has signaled it is considering another, and has been filing public records requests to identify more counties that don’t allow voters to correct flawed mail ballots or provide notice to voters that their ballot will be rejected. Such records requests are often a precursor to a lawsuit.

HARRISBURG — Amid protests over the war in Gaza, Gov. Josh Shapiro has quietly revised his administration’s code of conduct to bar state employees from engaging in “scandalous or disgraceful” behavior — actions that could lead to discipline or termination, Spotlight PA has learned.
The vaguely worded update, which went into effect last week without the public fanfare of some executive orders, is raising alarm among First Amendment advocates concerned that it could be used to unconstitutionally curtail free speech. It has also heightened fears among pro-Palestinian and Muslim American groups that employees who express opinions that differ from the Democratic governor’s stance on the war could be unfairly punished.
In a May 8 email to cabinet secretaries, a Shapiro administration official wrote that the need for “moral clarity is especially pronounced today, as antisemitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of hate speech are increasing across not only Pennsylvania, but nationally and globally.”
“The administration supports free speech, consistent with the First Amendment, but that speech may never incite violence, encourage people to violate the law, or harass others,” wrote Neil R. Weaver, who heads the Office of Administration. “Hate speech,” Weaver wrote, can take many forms, from “social media posts, to boycotts, to graffiti, to public confrontations.”

Michael Cohen came to court yesterday to nail Little Donny Fuckface to the wall. he was cool, calm and collected. he brought all the receipts. he described how micromanager Trump was involved in every step of the scheme to conceal the hush money payments. Cohen explained how he funneled the payments through a shell company. he described how Trump’s only goal was to preserve his presidential campaign — Donny didn’t give one fuck about Melania’s feelings.

holy shit, what? Hannibal Lecter is a wonderful man? does Donny think Lecter is a real person? does Donald Trump think Silence of the Lambs is a documentary? and is anyone surprised that the brain-eating is Donny’s favorite part of the movie?
